Appraisal (virtual)

Our Appraisal service provides a complete one stop shop. After scheduling your Appraisal meeting via Teams, Skype or Zoom, your Appraiser will review your portfolio ahead of the meeting to ensure all necessary steps and evidence have been submitted. The Appraiser will identify any potential gaps in evidence that may need addressing before the Appraisal so there is an opportunity to make any amendments.

The Appraisal meeting itself usually lasts 1-2 hours and is supportive in nature. Following the Appraisal, the Appraiser will complete all necessary paperwork, including the REV12 form, when you will have an opportunity to review what has been written, before final sign off.

Clearly, since Covid we have all learned to adapt and are much more used to virtual meetings. However, for some people, online meetings just aren't for them. This may be particularly true when we think about Appraisals, in which conversations can be quite personal and complex,  where a safe space has to be particularly fostered.

Your trainer works as an NHS GP, as well as a Training Programme Director, GMC Associate and PLAB examiner, NHS Appraiser, RCGP Examiner and medical school examiner. They have completed a Masters in Medical Education and are a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Member of the Royal Collage of General Practitioners

Please note, our facilitator is a PLAB examiner and GP educator themselves which will provide you with great insight and training! However, this does not mean we will disclose which cases / stations you will get. This is cheating, fraudulent, a conflict of interest and is an offence reportable to GMC, with likely erasure of your GMC license. Any companies promising to do this as part of PLAB preparation should be reported!
